Frequent Questions about Le Poggiola and the world of Farmhouses in Tuscany

What time is my room available on my arrival day?
Normally rooms are available at 4:00 pm on the arrival day, unless different requests are received. Such requests have to be agreed upon BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL.

What time do I have to quit my room?
In general rooms have to be quit in the morning on the day you leave Le Poggiola, at about 10:00 am (in any case not later than lunch time). You have the chance of using your room even until 6:00 pm of your departure day, and in this case an additional amount of 20 / 25 Euros per person will be charged (exact amount to be agreed upon).

Can I use the swimming pools on my departure day?
Although you quit your room you still have the possibility of enjoying the outside areas of the farmhouse (swimming pool, garden...) in your departure day too. Anyway, please inform us.

What is included in the half board price?
The half board price includes 1 dinner, 1 night in your room and 1 breakfast, generally distributed in a period of 2 days (for instance if I arrive in a Saturday afternoon I will have my dinner, will sleep in my room, and on the following morning (Sunday) I will have breakfast).

What does agritourism mean?
The word "agritourism" means a farmhouse which has made some rooms of its structure available for guests, where they can sleep and / or have lunch or / and dinner.

Are customers meant to work in an Agritourism?
Not at all! No kind of work is requested for your stay in the Farmhouse.

How distant are the nearest town centers?
Le Pòggiola is located about 2kms (1 mile) from Monsummano Terme 4 kms (2.5 miles) from the thermal town of Montecatini Terme. The nearest bar (and a food shop) 1,5 kms (1 mile) from us.

Where is the bus stop?
About 1,5 kms (1 mile) from the Farmhouse, on the main road; buses arrive every half an hour.

Where is the closest railway station?
In Montecatini terme, about 4 km (2.5 miles) and can be reached by taxi (about 15 Euros). Another railway station is in Serravalle, although few trains stop there each day.

Is there a restaurant around, which can be reached on foot?
Yes, at about Sì a 500 mts (0.3 miles) from the Farmhouse: typical local cuisine and pizza (also to take away).

What languages are spoken by the landlords?
Of course. Lisa speaks fluent english, and so does his father Gian Paolo. French is spoken and understood by all family members, and Lisa can speak German too, although not so fluently.

Shall we bring towels and bed sheets from home?
No, they are available either in bedrooms and in the apartment.

How can we dispose of garbage?
Next to Le Poggiola some waste containers are available. Plastic, glass and metal can be separated and disposed of in different containers (green or blue).

What about electric power and sockets?
220 volts, sockets of the Italian kind

Where is the swimming pool?
The swimming pool is in the garden, in a slightly isolated location, very close to the house, and offers a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside.
