What can I do at Le Poggiola?

Holidays are holidays, especially YOUR holidays. A Vacation in Tuscany is a balanced combinaton of rest and leisure. At Le Poggiola you can relax your body and your mind, and this relaxation will be enriched by the good taste of the good Tuscan Cuisine.

• The Swimming Pool - Farmhouse Le Poggiola is equipped with an open-air swimming pool, in a location overlooking a wonderful landscape of the Valdinievole countryside and the surrounding hills. In a sunny position, it is the right place to get suntanned, just like on a beach, in a peaceful and familiar place.

• The little Lake - A few steps away from the Agriturismo, on the hill, you will find a little lake, where you can go fly-fishing, or simply stop for a snack or a picnic. A fishing instructor and the relating equipment can be requested on reservation.

• The Garden full of flowers of the Farmhouse - All around the house you will walk through fields of grass and flowers. The area is equipped with tables, benches, chairs and deck chairs for you to rest and get suntanned.

• The Good Tuscan Cuisine - Le Poggiola offers its guests the possibility to have dinner in the house - half board - and taste the typical Tuscan tradition dishes.

• Wine Tasting of Tuscan Wines - At Le Poggiola Wine Tasting meetings are held on a regular basis. Red and White Wine is produced in the Farm, and guests will have the chance of being introduced to the traditional taste of locally produced red and white wines.

• Farm Work - Once a week, usually on Thursday afternoons, Lisa is available for its Guests to introduce them to Le Poggiola land, history and products, and to explain them how wine and olive oil are produced. If you are lucky to stay at Le Poggiola in the period when olives or grapes are collected, you are allowed to join in, or you can simply see how this work is done.

• Botanical areas - We are so lucky to have a little natural wook in the Uccelliera, where various sorts of plants grow – which host various sorts of birds - typical of the Mediterranan vegetation, located in front of the landlords' home. A short botanic tour can be taken within it, either alone or with us.

• Trips and Excursions - For those who want to visit Florence and its surrounding areas we arrange customized itineraries to discover the Tuscan city and its outskirts. Silvia Barsi (one of the daughters of the Landlords) will be your tour guide, and can assist from individual persons to small groups. You can choose if you prefere to visit museums or walk through the city, or making a tour of the gardens around Firenze.
If you prefere not to drive, you can join daily trips to the Cinque Terre, San Gimignano, Siena and other locations. Departures from Montecatini or Florence.

• For Wine Enthousiasts - ... and for those who want to visit other cellars outside Le Poggiola, we propose guided tours on shuttle buses and guide (there will be no need to drive!) to some historical cellars in various areas in Tuscany ( Montecarlo, Chianti classico, Brunello, Bolgheri, Carmignano).

• Shiatsu massage - You can request a Shiatsu massage directly in your room.

• Classes of Ceramic Painting - Ask if interested if the class is still available or when next one will be.

• Archery - Guests can have the chance of practicing Archery in an archery field by the Farmhouse. The field is certified by the F.I.T.A. - Italian Archery Federation - with targets at 90 meters. An instructor is available with bows on request. The field is run in cooperation with the Benedetti gunsmith, located in our town, where you can practice indoor. Benedetti is a bow dealer and is qualified in bow calibration.

• Cooking classes - Those who have a passion for cooking - as we do - can follow Tuscan cooking classes of one or more days. All depends on the time you have and on how much you want to learn about new recipes and tricks!

• Create you own itinerary in Tuscany - Guests are encouraged to discover the tuscan territory and organize their own tours in Tuscany and outside our reqion, through a series of books on the territory, available in the Farmhouse.

• Thermal treatment - The Grotta Giusti Spa in Monsummano Terme, at about three kms, nationally and internationally well known, offers a wide range of thermal and beauty treatments.

• Golf course, 18 holed - A few kms. from Serravalle an important golf club is located, with an eighteen hole course.

In the Farmhouse you can play table tennis. Not far from Le Poggiola some sport facilities are available, such as riding grounds and tennis courts.
